The Amstel Quartet has the technical confidence to tackle the most difficult piece from Iannis Xenakis and the versatility to collaborate with artists from other disciplines – such as dance, musical theatre, mime and cinema.

Voor jullie alle vier,
Vanmorgen in De Doelen te Rotterdam, hebben mijn man en ik enorm genoten van jullie vernieuwende manier en benadering van de muziek in zijn algemeenheid.
De virtuositeit waarmee jullie je eigen instrument bespeelden en de onderlinge saamhorigheid, klankvernieuwing en muzikaliteit heeft ons bijzonder geboeid.
Wat een idee om de Oosterse klankkleuren te combineren met onze Westerse muziek; wat een verruimende benaderingswijze.
De Pavane van Ravel in het bijzonder heeft mij heel erg geroerd; de warme klanken van de saxofoon en de zeer romantische muziek waren een heel mooie combinatie.
Niet alleen jullie hebben veel geleerd van de Tabbla (of is het Tabla)speler; en wat een bewondering heb ik voor jullie allen gekregen om De Maat te kunnen
houden bij een zo ingewikkelde maatvoering.
Ga zo door met het bespelen van jullie instrumenten, vele mensen zullen dan van jullie concerten kunnen genieten.

All 4 performances by Loopino and Amstel Quartet sold out
This weekend of 21st and 22nd of November choreographer and dancer Annick Pütz (Luxembourg) - that plays the character of "Loopino" - collaborated with the Amstel Quartet in a childrens' music theatre performance at the Philharmonie de Luxembourg - all 4 performances were sold out for weeks ahead. "Loopino" involves the children in a musical journey full of adventure, thrills and surprises.

Paradox Cliché
While I was in the Catskills earlier this year, I had the pleasure of attending a concert given by the Amstel Quartet.
These guys are unique and amazing! Their timing is impeccable. The approximately 1 hour concert consisted of their arrangements of classical music compositions by Bach, Franck, Mozart, Phillip Glass and others.
Their piece by César Franck was so beautiful it moved me to tears.
Post show, they elicited my envious smiles from their quaffing of absinthe. Those suave Europeans. ;)
I highly recommend discovering and exploring the music of the Amstel Quartet.
